Quite possibly one of the more luxurious releases we’ve seen in sometime, Nike introduces its Air Max 97 Lux, the latest limited edition runner from the sportswear giant. The kicks, made in Italy, feature a black/pink flash/metallic silver colorway with rich, seamless leather uppers, making the smooth 97 silhouette even sleeker than before. Numbered to only 1,695 pairs, the kicks are now available via SneakersNStuff.

Sleep Underwater in the Maldives

The world’s first undersea restaurant opened 5 years ago this month at the Hilton Maldives Resort & Spa Rangali Island, and to celebrate the anniversary the restaurant is offering guests the chance to not only eat under the sea but sleep under it as well. The 12-seat restaurant will be converted to a private bedroom suite for two, complete with private champagne dinner and breakfast in bed.

Ithaa sits five meters below the surface of the Indian Ocean, encased in plexiglass and reached by descending a spiral staircase. The restaurant offers breathtaking views and ‘fusion Maldivian cuisine’ (local cooking with a western twist), and rumor has it that over lunch the place is so bright that guests and staff have to wear sunglasses (they even keep spares on hand and offer a sunglasses cleaning service). Sounds wonderful, although I imagine seeing the sun rise while eating breakfast in bed is even better.

Nike Air Attack Display @ Niketown New York

 

To highlight the importance of “air”, Nike conceived an intriguing retail display at it Niketown location in New York.  In part to merchandising the limited Air Attack Pack, another to exhibit the unparalleled quality of air, the display pervaded from the expansive store window facing 57th Street, where each models from the collection rested on an authentic air tank for SCUBA diving.   Onward to a specific sale floor devoted to Air Attack Collection, with a lighted glass display wall acts as the centerpiece.  At a slight curve, the backlight of the case, each again with model from the Air Attack Pack, spelled out the word “air”, in bold form. ROCKSMITH – Boss Rock Jacket

A lightweight Boss Rock Jacket have just dropped from ROCKSMITH. It takes a varsity jacket styling yet utilizes chambray material that would be perfect for the current transition weather. It features the classic ROCKSMITH logo on the back in simple two tone while the left front chest is detailed with large R graphic. Ribbing is constructed in stripes consisting of triple tone that compliments the whole jacket. There are two colorways produced in red and navy with exterior using cotton fabric and inner lining is constructed out of smooth polyester. Matching snap buttons accents the front opening and two side pockets complete the front view.

German technical apparel producer Acronym have definitely outdone themselves with the latest S-J14 Suspensor Jacket. Going beyond the usual technical features that is required by outer jackets, this jacket has a removable Suspensor harness that docks to the jacket via magnetic internal load bearing structure. This system allows for the wearer to carry numerous heavy items while on the exterior, there would be no indication of the load hidden inside. Apart from this futuristic function, there are six external pockets, 13 inch PC sleeve, removable Forcelock and Jacketsling and Acronym Sound integrated

Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series by Renntech

Enticed by the Brabus Vanish, one-of-a-kind, Renntech is glad to help out. The Florida-based Mercedes tuner par excellence has taken on the SL65 AMG Black Series, and the results are even more impressive than those garnered by rival tuning house Brabus. Five horses more, but more nonetheless.

With a simple tweak to the engine’s computer, intercooler and exhaust system, Renntech has squeezed out an extra 135 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque from the twin-turbo V12 for a grand total of 865 hp and 1,000 pounds of twist. The upgrade costs $16,390, which may seem like a big chunk of change, but it’s a drop in the bucket against the car’s quarter-million-dollar stock list price. The highly recommended upgrades to the transmission and differential will set you back a little extra, though.

Self-proclaimed junk artist, Gabriel Dishaw, lives up to his name and has a passion for working with junk. However, in Dishaw’s case, one man’s trash is truly another man’s treasure, and through Dishaw’s transformation, found metal and mechanical objects such as typewriters, adding machines and computers get a new life. And this month, coinciding with Earth Day, Dishaw transfigures these tech discards into Nike kicks, giving sustainable shoes a whole new meaning. These shoes are currently exhibited at 360SEE Earth Day Show, in Dishaw’s solo exhibition titled “(Not So) New Shoes”.

Christian Louboutin has turned quite some heads this season with his new mens footwear line. After showing you some bits and pieces over the course of the season, we can finally give you a more complete look today at both the casual footwear and the sneakers of the collection.

Louboutin presents a series of high top sneakers, coming in both canvas/leather options and in some more extravagant looks. The Freddy stud lace-ups are of course the eye catcher of the season, but also not easy to pull off. Japanese retailer Lafayette have dropped their latest set of fitted titled Sign Caps in collaboration with New Era. The 59FIFTY is produced in five basic colorways that would be easy to match for the warmer climate. Blue, red, green, yellow and black are the choices so there should be one or more that you might want. On the front panel is a raised white embroidery that read Lafayette with a slight angle.
